Detroit Switch Inc. Temperature Control Switches

Detroit Switch series 222-10, 222-15, 222-20, 222-25, 222-32 Temperature Control Switches are designed to meet and withstand the tests for Grade A, Class 1 of the Naval Sea Systems Commands Military High Shock Specifications in MIL-S-901 and for Type 1 Vibration in MIL-STD-167-1.
These control switches have withstood the test of time under rigorous conditions and years of reliable service in Nuclear Propulsion systems and mobile, stationary and marine railroad facilities.
A.C and D.C Qualifications
Models 222-10 and 222-20 meet MIL-C-2212F for A.C. and D.C. switching devices. And Models 222-15 and 222-25 comply with MIL-DTL-2212H for A.C and D.C. switching devices.
Watertight Integrity
When specified, these Detroit Switch Temperature Control Switches are manufactured to meet the Watertight requirements set forth in MIL-E-2036.
Refrigeration
Units used in the Refrigeration industry are built in compliance to MIL-DTL-16743.
Alarm Systems
Models 222-20 or 222-32 switches used in Alarm Systems conform to MIL-DTL-16032.
The Model 222-32 Series Temperature Switch is intended for use on Vessels utilizing a MIL-A-17196 annunciator panel with a supervisory circuit. A Navy approved resistor is connected across the terminals to provide the supervisory circuit the ability to continuously indicate whether the ships wiring between the panel and the alarm switch are in working order.
Sensing Element
The sensing element bulbs for these instruments can be fixed for direct control or remote via a length of capillary tube to the temperature bulb. Bulb choices for liquids range from 3" long and 3/8" in diameter to 12" long and 11/16 inches in diameter. Standard remote temperature bulbs for use in measuring gas temperature are 1 1/8" in diameter and range from 6 1/2 inches to 30 inches long.
(Special bulbs are available for non-standard mounting positions and differentials.)
Various size thermowells and unions are available for installation.
